Hydration in Children and Young People

Along with good nutrition and exercise, keeping hydrated is key to keeping children and young people healthy, it is important they are happy to keep up their fluids and have access to Toilets when they need them.

The Guidance from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) suggest the following amounts for children and young people.

1 – 3 year olds should have 900 – 1000mls

4 – 8 year olds should have 1000 – 1400mls

9 – 13 year old girls should have 1200 – 2100mls

9- 13 year old boys should have 1400 – 2300mls

14 – 18 year old girls should have 1400 – 2500mls

14 – 18 year old boys should have 2100 – 3200mls

With the correct hydration children and young people need to pee regularly to prevent bladder issues.

The toilets need to be clean and accessible.

As Golf looks to encourage more juniors and young adults in to the game, it is important there are adequate toilet facilities.
